The face of the coin has three shields. The shields symbolize protection. One one shield there is a bear, which symbolizes protection, courage, and power. The stars beneath the bear, and the shield with the compass both point to Polaris- the North Star-which has guided travelers for centuries. One the reverse of the coin there are 43 arrows emanating from the Academi logo; to pay tribute to the individuals who have given their lives protecting others. The outer edge of this side of the coin states "Elite Training Trusted Protection"
